Sony Philippines unveils 2011 VAIO laptop offerings
Sony Philippines recently unveiled their new and updated 2011 mobile offerings, and it’s quite an extensive line-up with one bound to suit every type of PC user out there.
First up is the new VAIO C series. Available in a variety of vibrant colors, the 14-inch VAIO C series makes use of a rare light-emitting substance on its top panel and palm rest, allowing it to emit light through the edge of its surface, making it truly stand out from the rest of the pack. The VAIO C series comes equipped with Intel’s 2nd generation Core i5 processor and complemented by AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics, a 1.3-megapixel Exmor-powered HD webcam, 3D-supported HDMI cable, and blazing-fast USB 3.0 ports.
Next is the first ever 3D VAIO, the VAIO F. This black beauty boasts of a 16-inch full HD display with an Intel Core i7 quad-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics running under the hood. Don’t have any 3D media on hand? Not to worry. This baby can convert your 2D movies for you with just one press of a button (!) so you can enjoy it in full 3D glory with the bundled pair of active shutter glasses. And yes, for those wondering, that’s the same ones used with the company’s BRAVIA 3D TV sets.
For those looking for something more powerful than the standard netbook, there’s the new VAIO Y series. Featuring an 11.6-inch 1366×768 resolution display, the VAIO Y runs on an AMD Dual-Core E350 processor with AMD Radeon HD 6310 Discrete-Class graphics, making it possible for users to enjoy vivid and smooth HD content in this slim and compact notebook. The VAIO Y series is out now in green, pink and silver variants with a SRP of Php29,999.00.
Sony also updated the VAIO E series. The 2011 E series comes packed with an Intel Core i-380M 2.53GHz processor for better performance, eSATA port, and an HDMI out for those who wish to hook this baby up to their HDTV if watching videos on its 14-inch real 16:9 aspect ratio display isn’t to their liking. Available in white, pink and black variants, the Sony VAIO E series is already in stores retailing for Php44,999.00.
And finally, we have the 2011 VAIO S series. Built for those who want only the best, the all-new VAIO S runs on the latest Intel Core i5 processor running in tandem with AMD Radeon HD 6470M graphics. Designed for people on the go, the VAIO S series only weighs just 1.72kg compete with a magnesium body and aluminum palm rest. It also comes with an Exmor-powered HD webcam, a multi-gesture supporting touchpad, and 13.3-inch 1366×768 resolution anti-reflective glossy finish display.
The VAIO C, F, and new S series are all scheduled to roll out beginning next month.
Admittedly, Sony VAIO laptops aren’t the most budget-friendly laptops around, but quality is never a question with these devices. And as many Sony users will attest to, buying a VAIO laptop is more than just a purchase, it’s an investment.
